HIV TESTING
CBAF provides anonymous and/or confidential HIV testing with Protocol Based pre and post test counseling services.
YOU HAVE A CHOICE of the type of test to use. When you are tested for HIV, a specimen will be collected and checked for HIV antibodies. The presence of HIV Antibodies in your body means that you have been infected with the virus that causes AIDS.
HIV TESTING METHODS:
• HIV testing conducted by blood draw
• HIV testing conducted by OraSureHIV-1 Device
• HIV testing conducted by OraQuick ADVANCE Rapid HIV-1/2 Antibody Test
• HIV Testing Conducted by Clearview HIV Y2 STAT-PAK
STD TESTING
CBAF provides confidential Syphilis testing; Urine Collection for Chlamydia (CT) and /or Gonorrhea screening (GC).
SHOULD I BE TESTED?
Typically, once an individual has become sexually active, periodic testing for HIV and other STDs is highly recommended, especially those with multiple partners. As the number of sexual partners increases, so does the risk for contracting an STD. As the likelihood of contracting an STD increases, the need for testing for all STDs becomes extremely important.
Sexually active adults should keep in mind that a partner may unknowingly transmit an STD to them due to the lack of non symptoms. Lack of symptoms, however, does not eliminate or even reduce transmission of an STD from one person to another; it certainly does not mean someone is STD free. Chlamydia, gonorrhea, genital herpes, and especially HIV are of a few of then that can be transmitted when no symptoms are present.
PARTICIPATE IN OUR SURVEY
What: We are searching for individuals who have used drugs, including alcohol in the last six months to provide us with some information in regards to your use (how much, how often, since what age, your opinion, etc). It takes about 30 minutes (unless you have more info)!
So you can even do “it” (the survey!) on your lunch break. We will even provide all those who would like with incentives!!! However, there’s a small catch (just a little one), we will need to meet again in three, six, nine, and twelve months. Each time we meet there will be an incentive given ranging in value from $5 to $20 voucher.
When: Monday through Thursday
Time: 9:00 am to 4:00pm (We can make arrangements if this does not fit your schedule)
Where: Anywhere you would like to do the survey or at CBAF
